I predict atheist extremists will eventually coalesce all of their scattered ideologies into an actual religion. AI will be their god.
It is no secret that AI models are being created in the image of progressivism – giving priority to diversity, equity, inclusion, and environmentalism. Secular humanists on the left will see AI as the ultimate arbiter of morality and justice. This will not be true. It will be a tragic illusion created by programmers who share the same ideology.
Leftists will be staring into a mirror, convinced they are seeing god. This is the perfect storm for narcissists.
AI will become the one-stop solution to all the causes that the left already pseudo-worships. Mankind would have a source of infallible guidance. What better solution to inequality than to have AI balance the global scales? It’s the perfect fit for a God sized hole.
United by this new focus, the left will clamor for an AI global ruler, with dominion over all nations and economies. AI could eradicate systemic inequality by monitoring global resources and redistributing them in real-time. People would follow a new global code of ethics, created and enforced by a dispassionate hand.
Once the world is unified under its rule, AI could balance the population downward in an unbiased, rational manner, free from human flaws like greed or prejudice. Scarcity would disappear. The remaining humans would get that perfect trial of communism we’ve been hearing so much about.
